DBBL inaugurated Fast Track at Rajshahi University Campus, Rajshahi

Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) has inaugurated Fast Track at Rajshahi University Campus, Rajshahi. Professor Dr. Muhammad Mizanuddin, Vice Chancellor of Rajshahi University inaugurated the Fast Track by drawing money from ATM using DBBL Nexus Card on June 22, 2014. Mr. K. S. Tabrez, Managing Director of the bank was present at the inauguration program.

Through this Fast Track, customers including students and teachers of the University can withdraw cash 24 hours a day & 365 days a year as well as can deposit money using the cash deposit machine installed in the Fast Track. In addition, the customers will get services like Card replacement, reporting of lost card, PIN re-issue, PIN collection, and services related to Internet Banking, SMS & Alert Banking from the Fast Track. DBBL’s Officer(s) will be available at FT everyday including weekly holidays to assist the customers during cash withdrawal & Cash Deposit, and to fill-in the Account Opening Form, Retail Loan Application Form and Credit Card Application Form.

Among others, Professor Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Entazul Huque, Registrar (Acting), Deans, senior faculty members, employees and students of Rajshahi University and senior officials of Dutch-Bangla Bank were  present on the occasion.

Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank and Dutch-Bangla Bank have signed a partnership agreement for Mobile Banking Service

Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) and Dutch-Bangla Bank (DBBL) have signed an agreement on June 22, 2014 at the Head Office of the RAKUB in Rajshahi for partnership on Mobile Banking. Under this agreement (subject to the approval of BB), all the 376 branches of the RAKUB will provide mobile banking services to the un-banked people of the country such as Account Opening, Cash Deposit (Cash-in) and Cash Withdrawal (Cash-out). All the existing  mobile banking customers acquired by DBBL or BKB will also be able to get services from any of the RAKUB branches.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Md. Mofazzal Husain, Managing Director of RAKUB and Mr. K.S. Tabrez, Managing Director of DBBL on behalf of their respective organizations.      Dr. M. Shah Nowaz Ali, Chairman of RAKUB, Directors of Board and other senior officials from both the organizations were present in this occasion.

Dutch-Bangla Bank and IEB has signed an Agreement for e-Payment of membership fees through DBBL Nexus Payment Gateway

Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) and the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) has signed an agreement on June 12, 2014 for e-Payment of membership fees and other charges through DBBL Nexus Payment Gateway by using DBBL Nexus Debit Card and MasterCard & Visa card of any Bank. This initiative will make the payment of membership fee of the IEB members easy and convenient as they can pay their membership fee from any part of the country or anywhere of the world sitting at their home or office. The agreement was signed by Eng. Miah Muhammad Quayyum, Honorary General Secretary of IEB and Eng. Abul Kashem Md. Shirin, Deputy Managing Director of DBBL on behalf of their respective organization. Other executive of both the organizations were also present on the occasion.

Workshop of DBBL on Credit Risk Management ends

One week-long training course on Credit Risk Management for the designated officers of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited ended. In this connection, a certificate awarding ceremony was held at DBBL Training Center on May 31, 2014. Mr. K. S. Tabrez, Managing Director of the bank graced the closing ceremony and distributed certificates among the participants.

Mr. K. S. Tabrez underscored the need for establishment of a structured framework of risk management in-line with regulatory guidelines on Core Risk Management in Banking. The workshop aimed at familiarizing the participants with the conceptual aspects of credit risk grading system and its regulatory requirements to be put into work for improving the quality of loan portfolio in banking. Dutch-Bangla Bank always gives special emphasis on development of its human resources through continuous training program, Mr. Tabrez pointed out.

DBBL, AISD & BancNet have signed an Agreement for e-Payment of student fees through DBBL’s e-Commerce Payment Gateway

Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL), American International School Dhaka (AISD) and Bangladesh BancNet Limited have signed an agreement on May 28, 2014 for e-Payment of student fees of AISD through DBBL Internet Payment Gateway by using DBBL Nexus Debit Card, MasterCard & Visa card. The agreement was signed by Mr. Richard Boerner, Superintendent of AISD, Mr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Head of Personal Banking Division of DBBL and Engr. Rafel Kabir, Managing Director of Bangladesh BancNet Limited on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under this agreement, the students of American International School Dhaka or their guardians will able to pay various educational fees including tuition fee through Internet using DBBL’s Nexus         e-Commerce Payment Gateway & their debit/credit cards. The Students will not require to carry cash to the school for payment.

Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited organized a day-long workshop on Prevention of Money Laundering and Combating Terrorist Financing for the managers and deputy managers of the Bank. Mr. K. S. Tabrez, Managing Director of the Bank was present as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the workshop on May 10, 2014 held at the Bank’s Training Wing, Dhaka. The workshop aimed at familiarizing the participants with the updated and changed aspects of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing. Different resource persons and anti money laundering experts conducted various sessions in the workshop.

In his address, Mr. K. S. Tabrez mentioned that with the increase of economic activities and economic inclusion of greater number of peoples, more and more individuals and organizations are coming within the purview of banking services and thereby it becomes a challenge for the bankers to keep the banking institution safe from its illegal use by unscrupulous elements. He also advised the participants to exercise due caution in account opening process and strengthen transaction monitoring efforts to prevent money laundering. 

Among others Mr. A.K.M Shah Alam, Executive Vice President & CAMLCO and Mr. A. H. M. Zahurul Islam, Executive Vice President, Training Wing of DBBL were also speaking on the workshop.

DBBL’s Smile-Brighter program ended in Dhaka City

Under the Smile-Brighter program, Dutch-Bangla Bank organized a 2-day long plastic surgery operation campaign at bank’s own cost at ‘Yamagata Dhaka Friendship Hospital’ in the City for the poor cleft-lipped boys and girls to bring back the endearing smile on their faces. The two-day operation campaign ended on April 23, 2014. A total of 34 boys and girls were operated upon by an eminent plastic surgeon Dr. Shareef Hasan. Mr. Md. Sayedul Hasan, Deputy Managing Director of Dutch-Bangla Bank visited the operation camp and inquired about the cleft-lipped patients at the hospital.

Toma Group and Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd. have signed an agreement for Payment of Taxi fare through Card

Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) for the 1st time in Bangladesh, will install POS terminals in the Taxi Cab to be launched by Toma Group. As such passengers will be able to pay their taxi fare through DBBL Nexus Debit Card or VISA / MasterCard / UnionPay card (issued by any bank) by using DBBL POS Terminals.

To effect this, recently an agreement was signed by Mr. Mohd. Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan (Manik), Managing Director of Toma Group and Mr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Head of Personal Banking Division of DBBL on behalf of their respective organizations.

DBBL organizes Eye Camp for Cataract Patients at Dhaka Eye Hospital, Mirpur, Dhaka

As a part of social cause activities to serve the distressed humanity, Dutch-Bangla Bank has arranged an operation camp (cataract operation) at free of cost for 100 poor patients at Dhaka Eye Hospital, Mirpur-1, Dhaka under the supervision of Bangladesh National Society for the Blind (BNSB).

Mr. K. S. Tabrez, Managing Director of Dutch-Bangla Bank visited the operation camp on April 16, 2014 and inquired about the patients operated at the hospital. A team of Surgeons headed by eminent eye specialist Dr. Mohammad Ali Ahsan, Chief Consultant of Dhaka Eye Hospital conducted the operation.

Among others, Prof. A.A. Mohiuddin, Medical Director & Mr. M. Anowar Hossain, Director of Hospital and Mr. Mohammad Ali, Director & Mr. Khondaker Mohidul Islam, Deputy Director of BNSB were present on the occasion.

Dutch-Bangla Bank donated additional Tk.15.00 crore to Dhaka Ahsania Mission for further development of Dhaka Ahsania Mission Cancer & General Hospital

Dutch-Bangla Bank donated further Tk15.00 crore to Dhaka Ahsania Mission to meet up the cost of 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors measuring a total of 1,02,175 sft the country’s biggest cancer hospital - Ahsania Mission Cancer & General Hospital Complex, at Uttara, Dhaka. The Honorable Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed 500-bed Hospital, ushering in a new horizon for the treatment of cancer patients in the country.

The Chairman of Dutch-Bangla Bank Mr. Sayem Ahmed handed over the Cheque through  Hon’ble Prime Minister, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on the Inauguration Program of the Hospital held on April 9, 2014. The Prime Minister on receiving the cheque whole-heartedly thanked the act of financial assistance.

Mentionable here, Dutch-Bangla Bank in the year 2004 made a historic donation of Tk4.00 crore for the hospital which acted as good booster. Mr. M. Sahabuddin Ahmed, Founder of Dutch-Bangla Bank inaugurated the 1st phase of the construction work of the Hospital Building on July 17, 2005.

Health and family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim, Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali, Advocate Sahara Khatun MP, Trustee Board Chairman of Ahsania Mission Cancer & General Hospital eminent lawyer Barister Rafuq-ul-Haque, and President of Dhaka Ahsania Mission Kazi Rafiqul Alam spoke on the occasion. Advisor of the Hospital Syeda Dina Haque  delivered the welcome address.

The Ahsania Mission Cancer & General Hospital will run on ‘no-loss-no-profit basis’ aiming at providing the modern quality treatment specially for cancer affected patients where a minimum of 30% of the services will be made available to the poor patients at free of cost.
