In continuation of social cause program Dutch-Bangla Bank awarded scholarship to 5,050 students as the 9th phase who passed S.S.C/ equivalent examination in 2014. Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, MP, Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as the Chief Guest and handed over the Scholarship Awarding Letters to the recipients at a ceremony held at Shaheed Shohrawardi Indoor Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka on September 06, 2014 while The Honorable Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Anisul Huq, MP, and Mr. Gerben de Jong, the Ambassador of Kingdom of the Netherlands to Bangladesh were present as Special Guests. Mr. Sayem Ahmed, Honorable Chairman, Board of Directors of Dutch-Bangla Bank presided over the function. Mr. K.S. Tabrez, Managing Director of the bank was also present at the function.

 

Hon’ble Minister Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith in his oration profusely lauded the scholarship program of Dutch-Bangla Bank and recalled other Philanthropic activities of the Bank. He appreciated the DBBL’s continuous humanitarian and welfare activities and termed this Scholarship program as a unique example of helping the meritorious and needy students of the country. He expected that all the corporate bodies of the country would come forward with such programs for the benefit of the society.

 

Hon’ble Minister Mr. Anisul Huq lauded the role of DBBL in connection with philanthropic activities to stand by the distress people of the country, adding that DBBL is also a pioneer in providing modern banking services to its clients. He congratulated the scholarship awardees and expected that they would dedicate themselves by achieving real education.

 

While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gerben de Jong appreciated Dutch-Bangla Bank Foundation for its generous initiative to build the future of the underprivileged students which would go a long to the development of the human resources of the country. He also congratulated the students who got DBBL’s Scholarship.

 

Mr. Sayem Ahmed, Honorable Chairman, Board of Directors of Dutch-Bangla Bank in his speech said that since inception, as a responsible corporate body, DBBL has been playing a pioneering role in implementing social and philanthropic programs to help disadvantaged people of the society. A number of sectors are on the priority list of the bank including education, healthcare, and rehabilitation of distressed people where the bank carries out its social and philanthropic activities. He also mentioned that DBBL’s scholarships of all level are awarded to at least 90% of the students coming from rural areas and again at least 50% to girl students. The Chairman extended his gratitude and thanks to the Hon’ble Ministers for attending and gratifying the scholarship awarding ceremony.

 

Mr. K.S. Tabrez, Managing Director of the bank congratulated the scholarship awardees and gave vote of thanks.

DBBL donates Tk. 5.00 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for flood

Torrential rainfall and rush of water from the upstream caused severe flood for the last few days across the country. Thousands of people of several northern districts particularly in Sirajgonj, Gaibanda, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram etc. are marooned. The flood displaced thousands of people from their homes and caused severe damage to crops.

 

In order to mitigate the sufferings of the flood-hit people, the Board of Directors of Dutch-Bangla Bank decided to donate Tk. 5.00 (five) crore to the Prime Ministers Relief Fund. Mr. M. Sahabuddin Ahmed, Founder of Dutch-Bangla Bank & Chairman of Dutch-Bangla Bank Foundation handed over a Cheque for Tk. 5.00 (five) crore to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina on September 03, 2014 at PM’s office, Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) and Nitol Motors Limited have signed an agreement on August 12, 2014 for Nexus Payment Gateway Service. The agreement was signed by Mr. Abdul Matlub Ahmad, Chairman of Nitol-Niloy Group and Mr. K. S. Tabrez, Managing Director of Dutch-Bangla Bank on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under this agreement, customer will be able to book/purchase the motor vehicles of Nitol Motors Limited from anywhere any time through Internet by using DBBL Nexus Debit Card, MasterCard & Visa card.

Dutch-Bangla Bank holds workshop on ‘Integrated Supervision System (ISS) Reporting’

Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) organized a day-long workshop on “Integrated Supervision System (ISS) Reporting” for the designated officers of the Bank. Mr. K.S. Tabrez, Managing Director of the Bank inaugurated the workshop held at Bank’s Training Centre, Gulshan-2, Dhaka on August 09, 2014. Officers/executives from the Branches and Head Office participated in the workshop. Resource persons from Bangladesh Bank have been invited to conduct various sessions in the workshop.

In his inaugural speech the Managing Director Mr. K.S. Tabrez said, integrated system of gathering the information and its timely submission to the central bank is an important task not to be ignored as it helps the authority to monitor vital statistics absolutely important for crucial monetary, fiscal and economic decisions of the Government. Therefore, in order to establish a really effective, flawless and well stream reporting system, such training and interactive discussion session is of immense help. He also mentioned that the participants will be able to gather knowledge for making a correct and update Integrated Supervision System (ISS) Reporting.

Dutch-Bangla Bank has Opend its 137th Branch at Kapasia Bazar, Kapasia, Gazipur

Dutch-Bangla Bank has opened its 137th Branch at Kapasia (Kapasia Bazar, Kapasia, Gazipur) on 10th August 2014.

Mr. K.S.Tabrez, Managing Director of the Bank formally inaugurated the Kapasia Branch. A Milad Mahfil on the occasion was held seeking blessings of the Almighty Allah for successful operation of the branch, prosperity of the business community, depositors and stakeholders of the Bank.

Dutch-Bangla Bank provides a wide range of Banking products and financial services including Card services to its retail and corporate customers. DBBL inaugurated Fast Track at Rajshahi University Campus, Rajshahi

Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) has inaugurated Fast Track at Rajshahi University Campus, Rajshahi. Professor Dr. Muhammad Mizanuddin, Vice Chancellor of Rajshahi University inaugurated the Fast Track by drawing money from ATM using DBBL Nexus Card on June 22, 2014. Mr. K. S. Tabrez, Managing Director of the bank was present at the inauguration program.

Through this Fast Track, customers including students and teachers of the University can withdraw cash 24 hours a day & 365 days a year as well as can deposit money using the cash deposit machine installed in the Fast Track. In addition, the customers will get services like Card replacement, reporting of lost card, PIN re-issue, PIN collection, and services related to Internet Banking, SMS & Alert Banking from the Fast Track. Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank and Dutch-Bangla Bank have signed a partnership agreement for Mobile Banking Service

Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) and Dutch-Bangla Bank (DBBL) have signed an agreement on June 22, 2014 at the Head Office of the RAKUB in Rajshahi for partnership on Mobile Banking. Under this agreement (subject to the approval of BB), all the 376 branches of the RAKUB will provide mobile banking services to the un-banked people of the country such as Account Opening, Cash Deposit (Cash-in) and Cash Withdrawal (Cash-out). All the existing mobile banking customers acquired by DBBL or BKB will also be able to get services from any of the RAKUB branches.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Md. Mofazzal Husain, Managing Director of RAKUB and Mr. K.S. Tabrez, Managing Director of DBBL on behalf of their respective organizations. Dr. M. Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) and the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) has signed an agreement on June 12, 2014 for e-Payment of membership fees and other charges through DBBL Nexus Payment Gateway by using DBBL Nexus Debit Card and MasterCard & Visa card of any Bank. Workshop of DBBL on Credit Risk Management ends

One week-long training course on Credit Risk Management for the designated officers of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited ended. In this connection, a certificate awarding ceremony was held at DBBL Training Center on May 31, 2014. Mr. K. S. Tabrez, Managing Director of the bank graced the closing ceremony and distributed certificates among the participants.

Mr. K. S. Tabrez underscored the need for establishment of a structured framework of risk management in-line with regulatory guidelines on Core Risk Management in Banking. The workshop aimed at familiarizing the participants with the conceptual aspects of credit risk grading system and its regulatory requirements to be put into work for improving the quality of loan portfolio in banking. Dutch-Bangla Bank always gives special emphasis on development of its human resources through continuous training program, Mr. Tabrez pointed out.
