Sholakuri union is situated in Modhupur upazilla of Tangail district. It has 42 villages and about 35,000 people live in this area. Most of them are ethnic – Garo and Kutch. There is no college in Sholakuri and its surrounding areas. But a huge number of students of these areas go to college everyday which is located at a long distance from their residences. Consequently, many students especially female students are dropped-out every year. There is a dire need for establishing a college in Sholakuri Union, Modhupur, Tangail.
