To cater to the needs of its passengers for booking seats online, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the flag-ship carrier, has introduced a new and robust website i.e. www.biman-airlines.com Earlier on this website only VISA card & MasterCard issued outside Bangladesh could purchase Biman e-ticket through the payment gateway of Thailand known as Kasikorn or K Payment Gateway. But the Bangladeshi passengers were not able to buy Biman e-ticket using VISA card and MasterCard (debit or credit) issued by a Bangladeshi Bank.
To facilitate the Bangladeshi passengers to buy e-ticket, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has selected Dutch-Bangla Bank to link up its website with DBBL’s 3D secured Payment Gateway known as “Nexus Gateway”.
With this integration of Biman with the Nexus Gateway, passengers can use DBBL Nexus Debit Card, VISA card and MasterCard (debit or credit) to purchase Biman e-ticket.
To effect this, an agreement has been signed by Mr. Kevin John Steele, Managing Director & CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Mr. K. S. Tabrez, Managing Director of Dutch-Bangla Bank on behalf of their respective organizations.
Mr. Mohammad Shah Newaz, Director Marketing & Sales, Mr. Mizanur Rashid, Deputy General Manager Revenue of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and Mr. Abul Kashem Md. Shirin, Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Head of Personal Banking Division of Dutch-Bangla Bank and senior executives from both the organizations were also present on the occasion.
