Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited has declared Cash dividend @ 30% (i.e. Taka 30 per share of Taka 100 each) for General Public shareholders and Foreign Sponsors/ Shareholders for the year 2010 excluding local Sponsors.

The dividend was declared at the 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bank held on March 24, 2011 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka under the Chairmanship of Mr. Zahid Hossain Khan, Chairman, the Board of Directors of the Bank. The honorable Chairman welcomed the shareholders and sought their cooperation for conducting the meeting smoothly.

Among others, honorable Members of the Board, Mr. Sayem Ahmed (Chairman, Executive Committee of the Board), Mr. Md. Fakhrul Islam, Dr. Irshad Kamal Khan, Dr. Syed Fakhrul Ameen, Mr. Chowdhury M. Ashraf Hossain and the Managing Director of the Bank Mr. K. S. Tabrez were present in the AGM.  Mr. M. Sahabuddin Ahmed, Chairman of Dutch-Bangla Bank Foundation & Founder Chairman of the Bank and Mr. Bernhard Frey, Ex-Director of Board of Directors of DBBL and representative of foreign Sponsor ECOTRIM Hongkong Limited were also present in the meeting.

The accounts of the bank for the year ended December 31, 2010 were placed in the meeting and the share holders made a critical review of the performance of the bank. The honorable share holders expressed their happiness with the activities of the bank which increased significantly during the year.

The deposit of the bank increased by 22.8% from Tk. 67,788.50 million in 2009 to Tk. 83,244.80 million in 2010, while loans & advances increased by 39.8% from Tk. 48,411.00 million to Tk. 67,657.70 million in 2010 while import business increased by 65.1% and export business increased by 78.6%.

The bank earned operating profit of Tk. 4,198.47 million in 2010 as against Tk. 2,695.72 million in 2009 registering 56% growth. Capital Adequacy Ratio stood at 9.64% and it was above the Statutory Requirement of 9%.

The meeting unanimously appointed M/S. A. Qasem & Co, Chartered Accountants as the auditors of the Bank for the year 2011.
